The all new Moto G5 Plus release date is here. All new device from Motorola has been launched in India on 15 March 2017. Motorola, which is now a Lenovo-owned company announced the official release of Moto G5 plus in recent event MWC 2017. As the officials said Lenovo wanted to launch the Moto G5 plus in India on the priority. Moto G series was unveiled by the Motorola back in early 2014. Since then this is the fifth generation of Moto G series after Moto G, Moto G (Gen 2), Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto G4.

Moto G5 PlusMoto G series has been successful in attracting customers with its great design and features. All these devices are being sold exclusively on online shopping giants like Flipkart & Amazon. Let us have an overview what Moto G plus has brought for Moto lovers.

Design and Build Quality

At first glance, the new Moto G5 Plus looks a lot like the mid-range Moto Z Play, with similar Moto branding between the earpiece and display. All Moto G smartphones so far had plastic and polycarbonate body but this time Moto G has finally given metal body which gives a premium feel when you hold it. The Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5 now sport an aluminium finish, and the G5 Plus definitely feels sturdy. It looks strikingly handsome from the front, and in my opinion, is a huge improvement over its predecessors.

The power and volume buttons are on the right and the 3.5mm audio jack and Micro-USB port for charging and data transfer are at the bottom. Moto has also added the dual sim + SD card slot this time which supports external storage up to 128 GB. The phone has traditional rounded corners and curved back which give comfort while holding in single hand.

The phone offers fingerprint sensor at the front integrated with the home button.  Moto G plus has a big camera bump just above the Motorola branding. Speakers are also at the bottom of the back. The smartphone has 3.5 mm jack at the bottom along with the charging cable slot. It features 5.2 inches IPS LCD display protected by corning gorilla glass 3. The Moto G5 plus weighs at 155 grams like predecessor Moto G4.

The Moto G5 Plus has a 12-megapixel rear camera with a feature of Dual Autofocus Pixels which lets you focus in a blink. The camera has a f/1.7 aperture and dual LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera with an f/2.2 aperture and display flash that could come in handy in dim areas.  It offers 8X digital zoom and an active viewfinder which can recognize QR codes and barcodes. Mode selection controls are on the right, and you can capture slow-motion video and panoramas. There’s also a professional mode. You can switch to the front camera with a tap on the screen.

The camera on the Moto G5 Plus is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps, which is a big advantage at this price point. You also get full-HD video recording at 30 and 60fps. 4K videos look better than full-HD ones, but we have seen better results from other phones in the same price band.

Battery Performance

The Moto G5 plus has 3000mAh battery which can deliver up to 24 hours of usage according to the company. But in my opinion, the phone may roughly last until evening with the heavy usage of the internet if charged 100% in morning. The phone supports the turbo charging feature of Motorola which adds a big advantage to users.

RAM & Processor

The Moto G5 plus is powered by 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. Other competitors like Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo P2 also uses the same processor. Lenovo has launched two variants in India of Moto G5 plus. The first comes with 3GB of RAM with 16 GB internal storage and the another one comes with 4GB of RAM with 32 GB internal storage. The should run smoothly with the huge RAM of 3GB and 4GB.

Android OS Version

The Moto G5 plus is the first smartphone in its price bracket to run on latest android 7.0 Nougat. The phone will work very smoothly with android 7.0 nougat with its hardware configurations. We are not expecting the lagging while playing even big games.

Cool Features

Moto G5 plus sports cool features like Google Assistant, Turbo Charging, and NFS. However, Lenovo has made it clear that feature of Google Assistant will not feature in the first ship. The users have to wait for an update to use Google Assistant. The Turbo charging is a great feature which claims to charge the battery at 50% in 15 minutes only. Moto has added it other features of motions at the screens which seem cool while using.

The Moto G5 Plus Price has fixed at very aggressive level. The smartphone has been launched in India in two variants. The First offers 3GB RAM with internal storage of 16 GB priced at INR 14999.00 and another offers 4GB RAM with internal storage of 32GB is priced at 16999.00.

The Moto G5 plus will be sold exclusively online on Flipkart from midnight of 15 March 2017. The link to the sale is given below:
